The Kent Rural Evidence Base
The importance of Kent’s rural areas is often underestimated. Yet, just over 85% of our land area is classified as rural, and almost a third of the population live in rural areas. Rural areas also contribute significantly to the economy with more than a third of Kent’s total businesses being located in rural areas.
The Kent Rural Evidence Base Report was created to inform the Kent Rural Delivery Framework. Further work has since been undertaken on rural access and rural disadvantage to augment this research.
